its crazy how out of touch the 80 years 1944 2024 San Francisco 49ers thank you for the memories signatures shirt it is in the first place but older generation is. idk why they think the first house we are able to buy should be in the millions. Focus on what you can afford now because what may not be good enough today may not be affordable tomorrow if prices go up or interest rates change. Perfectly reasonable to be frustrated, you are completely valid in wanting to live within your means. Don’t let the fact they’re indoctrinated by social media and “the American dream” stop you from living your best life with the family you’re building. That’s kind of hilarious to me bc I can’t even afford 300k and when I look at 250k it’s all condominiums and I want to die. So. Just tell her to stop wasting both of your time

The ones they send you, can also give you “bad vibes”. Draw the 80 years 1944 2024 San Francisco 49ers thank you for the memories signatures shirt it is in the first place but line in the sand now. Do it now, and you set the tone for the future. Yes dear now… and you’ll yes dear in the future too. Wishful thinking is fine, and aspirations too, but be realistic about what you commit to. Its your resources, not only for yourself, but for your now and future family. A modest home, with a great household dynamic, good education and an opportunity to travel with your family is well within your reach. I was looking today an online calculator based on the household income and I’m supposed to be ok at buying a $1.1 million dollar home. I was like what the fuck is this calculator talking about. So, Seriously question, how do you calculate a budget for a 30 years mortgage + insurance + taxes + anual maintenance? Lmao, when my broker gave me my preapproval, I had him write my letter for 10% less than the actual amount. I didn’t want a house that expensive and I knew that if I came back with a letter for the full amount, my partner would immediately start looking at houses in that range instead of what I was comfortable paying. The house that we ended up buying was the exact amount in my letter. It’s funny how that works. I asked my broker and confirmed that if I needed the extra $ he would rewrite the letter for more, but it would have to be the most amazing house ever for me to spend the full amount. This is a bit off topic, but my philosophy when I was house hunting (about 8 years ago) was to start out only looking at houses under my budget, and then inch my way up until I found something I was 100% confident I would be happy living in for 30+ years.
