There is more than likely a Rule that Drivers can’t let people off at anywhere other than a Stop, and the Driver was in fact not being an asshole, but just following the Rules.

A dumbass like that ain’t gonna give up on the situation just because the driver dropped him off. At that point he was beyond pissed and way beyond reason. Guy didn’t pull out the gun until the driver refused to let him off. If the driver just let him off when he asked to, the security cam footage would have never shown that doing so just averted a gun fight; all anyone would ever know is that a passenger asked the driver to get off between stops and the driver just said ‘ok’ despite the fact that he’s not allowed to do so by policy. So yeah, the driver would have just eaten shit in that case. Did you watch the video or read an article? The driver asked Tobias to get off because he hadn’t paid. Tobias got angry, then pulled a gun and walked behind the driver. I live in charlotte and there was another shooting like this on a CATS bus last year. driver in that one didnt walk away with his life so i can understand carrying but it stopped being self-defense the moment he shot at him on the ground or when he got out of the bus to continue shooting as he was fleeing
