It is always an idiot on their phone who is a PoS that doesn’t give a crap about others around them. The most common excuse I hear is, “I don’t have to worry about merging cars!” Left lane drivers PISS me off! Back in high school and part of college my main vehicle was a 1980 toyota pickup with an 80 horsepower (optimistic) 4 cylinder and 4 speed transmission with no over drive. It topped out at 70-75 mph under it’s own power, and my realistic cruising speed was a bit under 60. If I wanted to pass a truck and trailer, I had to pray the truck didn’t also speed up a bit. Sometimes I got stuck next to a truck/RV/guy pulling trailer and couldn’t get back over. Sorry, nothing I could do.

Be patient with a potential further slowdown (stay in the lane) and then be ready to return to cruising speed so this person cannot get back over and we can all travel at the speeds we had hoped, thanks”.
