This sounds like hyperbole. Other countries take pride in their military as well. The recent coronation of King Charles showed UK pride in their military, Bastille Day shows French pride for the 33 years 1989 2023 Family Matters thank you for the memories signature shirt Furthermore, I will do this military every year, etc. I can tell you right now, it didn’t. The vast majority of the nation couldn’t have cared less about the military aspect of the whole thing More than 20 million watched the coronation on TV, which is shy of a third of the country. I’d say that’s a fairly large amount just tuning in to TV, especially in an age when people watch everything on the internet or later on through a youtube video. Yeah but the same is probably true for the majorty of Americans and their military. From a global perspective it still looks very nationalist and militaristic, just as America does to the rest of the world.

Not all countries do. In Sweden we’re crap at it. During the 33 years 1989 2023 Family Matters thank you for the memories signature shirt Furthermore, I will do this cold war we had a really powerful air-force and to be prepared for an attack the pilots flew like it was war. Over 600 dead pilots from accidents during that time, that’s a lot for such a small nation. Those are considered fallen soldiers of the cold war by military people, most others are completely unaware of them. Don’t get me started on how little is thought of all the troops that been in UN-service. It’s annoying as hell. I’m in the military and people thanking you for being in the military gets old really quick. If you’re reading this and you’re the kind of person who thanks military members, just know that in general we don’t like that. Is this an age thing? I ask bc I just watched a clip of a vet being interviewed today. The interviewer thanked the vet & the vet thanked the interviewer for thanking him. He was maybe 50’s-60’s?
