The disease wiped out by vaccines? The one without a single naturally occurring case in over 50yrs? That small pox? Yeah, it’s not smallpox, it’s your appendix. Had mine out later in life, early 2000s. Was told they have not discovered any practical need for it, and that if its infected, its safest to take it out before it ruptures. Who was i to question that “science”. Apparently they now suspect that essentially stores a library of flora that your body needs, and should you ever lose all of it, it resets your bodies good bacteria (gut flora, etc). So 20 years later, i get lymes, and go on an antibiotic regimen for a few months. Pretty much wipes out my digestive system, and that was the hard part, not the lymes. I lost 30lbs in a few weeks, I couldn’t put enough food in, because my body just wasn’t getting the nutrients out of it. Took me about a year to get back to normal.

The scary part is you go to a teaching hospital, or most hospitals, and they do exactly what they did 30 years ago. Question everything people. Fyi, in my case, i woke up one morning, told my wife i need to go to the hospital and get my appendix taken out. She thought i was kidding. They ran tests for hours while im in massive pain, including someones hand up my butt. The whole time im like “ i dont need it right?” No. “Then take it out!”. Today i would have been googling it on my phone and maybe kept it. While I am glad this person took their daughter with appendicitis to the ED, I am also very confused that this person went to the ED at all. Were they not expecting western medicine?
