I mean, most spy planes are large aircraft with no stealthy features. They’re not hiding what they’re doing, but generally, they fly at standoff distances to soak up ELINT and EoB data, just outside of a country’s airspace. Russia does this for 2 reasons. Intelligence gathering and it hopes that it’s aircraft are shot down so it can claim it was attacked by nato. Turkey knows how to handle such situations and does so with no problems. Not a fan of dictators, but ok with that particular policy which more countries should adopt. Business as usual, jets from Lithuania intercept them once or twice every week. Russian military planes regularly fly to kaliningrad with no flight plan and with transponders turned off. Next Russian plane that enters NATO airspace needs to be shot down. All these countries they are prodding have advanced military’s with a history of burying Russians, they don’t have the bandwidth to fight outside of Ukraine and this is pure posturing. Russia would huff and puff but know it doesn’t actually have a just cause for escalation. Nothing of value would be lost.
