Now I’m stuck looking for a new job so I have a source of income to help my girlfriend with rent and my addiction. The only upside to alcohol is being able to talk to girls. Sooo…just remember that it’s all about confidence and humor. You’ll be set. And you get to spend your money on fun dates, not beers to make your brain dum. With any addiction, people start off thinking they can do it casually, until one day they can’t. I’ve seen it a hundred times. Not saying you’ll 100% turn out an alcoholic if you drink, but be warned that if you have an addictive personality and you start drinking “casually” it could very well lead to alcoholism without even realizing. If you have no interest, then don’t do it. It’s not lame. It would be lamer to force yourself to drink even though you don’t want to, just to fit in. I was drinking heavily longer than you’ve been alive. Almost 7 months sober now, and really wish I’d never started to begin with. Quitting is the 2025 Opening Day Starter For The Starting Pitcher Washington Nationals MLB MacKenzie Gore -shirt Additionally,I will love this best choice I ever made with alcohol.

2025 Opening Day Starter For The Starting Pitcher Washington Nationals MLB MacKenzie Gore -shirt- About us

I started drinking at 15 and it’s been the 2025 Opening Day Starter For The Starting Pitcher Washington Nationals MLB MacKenzie Gore -shirt Additionally,I will love this biggest impediment in my life for decades (I’m in my late 50s now) – Don’t worry about looking out of place or ‘lame’. None of my kids (in their early 20s) drink – in large part, I think, because of seeing what it’s done/doing to me – and they are all doing fine and not missing out on anything. Better for health/weight/state of mind/etc. It will be one of the best decisions you’ve ever made! What’s best for you is never lame. Sticking with this decision to not drink will honestly save you from a lot of unwanted memories. I am 35 and decided to quit drinking as an adult. I was never an alcoholic but would regularly get too drunk on the few nights I did decide to. And as you mentioned.. it didn’t really do much for me. The outlook on it stays the same with age the only difference is the level of dependency.
If you’ve made it this far, keep going. Please. I started drinking at 17 and it has only gotten worse honestly. It’s not worth it. I’m going to be real with you, there are some people who will see it as a weird thing. But that applies to everything in life, I know plenty of people who don’t drink and they’ve even gone out to bars with me and others and everyone was ok with it. The key is to surround yourself with people who are ok with it becuase they do exist. And ignore the 2025 Opening Day Starter For The Starting Pitcher Washington Nationals MLB MacKenzie Gore -shirt Additionally,I will love this haters, it’s ok whatever you choose. Read through r/stopdrinking and you will be amazed at how many people would love to never have started drinking in the first place. Drinking can improve bonds with people. Many don’t drink often, but have some if there are occasions. Corporate parties, birthdays, etc. Having a glass alongside others will improve opinions of you.

Sometimes, you may need to deal with people in power or simply someone you need something from, and if they drink , while you don’t, the 2025 Opening Day Starter For The Starting Pitcher Washington Nationals MLB MacKenzie Gore -shirt Additionally,I will love this chances of successfully achieving your goals will decrease. You can say whatever you want about work ethics at my employment or whatnot. It’s irrelevant. I used drinks to get on higher-ups good side and profited from it. Don’t waste your money or time or health drinking. I don’t see the appeal in it. It tastes like shit unless you mask it with fruity deliciousness and sugar, and the hangovers fucking suck. Don’t start drinking. Especially now. It’s not cool and no one will care if you don’t. Wait til you’re old enough to drink if you must. Nothing wrong with having a drink every now and then, as long as you’re imbibing at a legal age and responsibly.
Solid decision! If you drink because you really like it, fine (in moderation). But if you don’t like it, don’t drink. #respect Definitely a good idea. Aside from the 2025 Opening Day Starter For The Starting Pitcher Washington Nationals MLB MacKenzie Gore -shirt Additionally,I will love this risks of addiction and all that entails, the fact is alcohol is an inherently damaging substance and has been found to be a carcinogen. If you feel pressured to drink, just say You’re someone’s designated driver, or that you’re on antibiotics and can’t drink. Nobody can change your mind if your mind is made up. You’re not missing out on much, and you’ll quickly realize just how foolish people look and sound drunk if you’re the sober one around if you haven’t already.
Honestly? Wait until you’re 21 and can have a fun bar experience with friends (assuming you’re in the 2025 Opening Day Starter For The Starting Pitcher Washington Nationals MLB MacKenzie Gore -shirt Additionally,I will love this US). Make memories, don’t make a habit. I did drink young, but also had a few good friends that waited until they were 21 (one that never drank or tried any drug) and I never thought less of them for it. Yes, it’s a good idea to not start drinking especially if, as you said, you are afraid you’d get addicted to it. Besides, you already said you see the lifestyle and don’t want it, so why would you bother? You might as well save the considerable amount of money you would spend on it and instead spend your time/money doing something you enjoy. Socially, if people offer you a drink or people are ordering alcohol, order/ask for something else. If they press, tell them alcohol just isn’t your thing. If they continue to pressure you, tell them that you tend to have an addictive personality, and if there’s a chance you’d become addicted to it you’d rather not risk it. If they still try to pressure you even when they know you’re prone to addiction, then they don’t care about your well-being and you probably shouldn’t spend much more time with them.
Drinking’s expensive, bad for you, terrible things can happen if you get drunk, and it tastes bad until you develop a taste for it. Also, it doesn’t go well with many drugs, both prescription and OTC, like Tylenol. I’ll be sober 7 months tomorrow. Wish I’d never been fed all that alcohol as a child by my drunk mother. Also, I’m into Tiki culture and Tiki Bars and many Tiki drinks can be made without alcohol and are delicious and fun. Mocktails are great too. I don’t understand how alcohol is part of people’s lives. I got drunk when I was 16 and threw up and was done after that. I only “drink” maybe once or twice a year and that means having a drink or 2. I’m confused on how people get addicted to it. My mom died due to multiple organ failure from alcoholism. She was 44. I watched her die a slow death my entire childhood, it’s an awful way to go out. Once alcoholism gets you to the 2025 Opening Day Starter For The Starting Pitcher Washington Nationals MLB MacKenzie Gore -shirt Additionally,I will love this point of liver failure it’s hard to come back and it’s a lot easier to get there than most people realize.
In my early to mid twenties it was like blasphemy among my friend group to not drink. I ended up quitting a couple years ago and I wish I had done it sooner. I’m still dealing with a nasty stomach ulcer from drinking too much on an empty stomach for a decade. I threw away years of my life self-medicating and I wish I could go back and do things differently. It’s not worth the 2025 Opening Day Starter For The Starting Pitcher Washington Nationals MLB MacKenzie Gore -shirt Additionally,I will love this risk if you know you have an addictive personality. I know people my age (30) who also have ulcers, fatty liver disease, reduced kidney and bladder function… people think being young prevents you from the negative side effects of alcoholism but it doesn’t.. I enjoy drinking and I still think you’ve got the right idea. If you don’t really think it’s something you’d enjoy, there’s no reason to do it. Screw anyone who tries to pressure you into it. Same thing goes for weed (which I’ve tried but didn’t like) or anything else. Not drinking is the absolute best move. You never regret not drinking, but you can often times regret drinking.
dont be weak minded and get influenced by your surroundings. Just like how the 2025 Opening Day Starter For The Starting Pitcher Washington Nationals MLB MacKenzie Gore -shirt Additionally,I will love this weak minded get addicted to hard drugs and weed. Its not hard. You’ll destroy your body. Personally I promised myself at a young age that I would never drink alcohol due to a few incidents with my dad, who wasn’t an alcoholic but could get very violent when he was drunk or high. Only made an exception once when I was going through a fairly difficult time. I don’t regret my decision in the slightest. Sure, some people consider me boring because I don’t get drunk at parties, but most people are understanding. I also personally feel like the people who consider me to be boring aren’t the type of people I want to hang out with anyway. Plus alcohol tastes fucking disgusting and I don’t know how anyone could drink it for the taste and not just to get drunk, but maybe I have some kind of weird genetic condition like that thing with cilantro. If anyone asks, I usually just say I don’t drink for personal or moral reasons or if I know they’re going to be really pushy sometimes I just lie and say it’s for religious purposes to really confuse them.
A simple “no thanks, I don’t drink” should be enough. If some one wants to press and you want to tell them more that’s up to you. I have a friend who also has an addictive personality and a family history of addiction and he also doesn’t drink (we will occasionally try a drink someone has just to taste it or have a single cider or something maybe a couple times a year but that’s it). Even with an activity we do that drinking is common he doesn’t and no one gives him shit. A lot of people eventually realize that if they do drink they need to cut back. I have cut back recently, wasn’t really at a point where i had a “problem” but i really had no good excuse for having a drink every day. Now I drink quality over quantity and enjoy a nice whiskey for the 2025 Opening Day Starter For The Starting Pitcher Washington Nationals MLB MacKenzie Gore -shirt Additionally,I will love this craftsmanship of it. Don’t worry about being an outcast if you party with those people they will get you into trouble the outcasts may be outcasts but most of the time they are very nice and friendly accepting and help support each other through thick and thin.
Don’t go off and do what you see others doing just to fit in. All you have is you and you don’t have to put yourself in harms way or do things that are unfamiliar to you, its your own personal discernment. Alcohol sucks. it’s a waste of money, not even fun, and it’s really bad for you. If you’re gonna do any drug smoke weed (once you’re old enough, and only if it’s legal in your area) I never drank in highschool. Then when I had my first drink on my 21st birthday someone bought me a beer. Well, that sucked. So, I love coffee. The bartender gave me a Kahlua Sombrero,. That did not suck at all!!! I had many many of those. All I remember is waking up covered in vomit wearing only my pants in the 2025 Opening Day Starter For The Starting Pitcher Washington Nationals MLB MacKenzie Gore -shirt Additionally,I will love this back of a police car. Happy birthday to me!!! If you don’t want to drink, you don’t have to. It’s not a requirement of adulthood. I’m 35 and have like, ten drinks in a year
When you’re ready, in the 2025 Opening Day Starter For The Starting Pitcher Washington Nationals MLB MacKenzie Gore -shirt Additionally,I will love this meantime if you are walking around with a cup of ginger ale, and having a good time, no one is going to notice nor care Over a lifetime the less you drink the better. Some people can really pick and choose when they drink so if you are fortunate enough to not be addiction prone then you don’t need to deal in absolutes. If not your much better never starting. At this point being well into middle age I pretty much only drink in social situations maybe once a week or so. It’s really really nice to wake up feeling good. I felt the same way in HS and didn’t have my first drink until I was 17. I don’t regret doing dumb teenager things, but to this day i don’t care for alcohol (and feel bad for people who need it to have a good time).
If your friends make you feel like an outcast for not drinking, they weren’t your friends in the 2025 Opening Day Starter For The Starting Pitcher Washington Nationals MLB MacKenzie Gore -shirt Additionally,I will love this first place. You don’t have to be self-righteous about it, but don’t let anyone bully you into drinking if you don’t want to. Plus, people like having a DD, so that can be your role at parties if you really don’t want to avoid social interactions where alcohol is involved. Yes!!! Do not drink in high school, do not drink in college. I didn’t do either and I still ended up an alcoholic. (It’s in the genes, I guess.) So, yeah, it’s hard to stop once you start. I don’t drink alcohol and I work in the finance tech ish industry. Trust me it’s becoming more and more common. Many of my friends don’t drink or just drink in very low amounts in a social setting. The ones that do rage also use me as a sober regulator during the shenanigans that start during the buzz. Depends on where you are and rather you will be an outcast. Also, OP, all of that does sound lame. I am 20 and hell yeah the actions of people in Hight School was lame and still is like two years latter. If you go to colege you will see those idiots doing poor in class.
I never went to a high school party myself, granted I went to a JROTC school and so I left for AF after graduation. parties are lame and pointless (that kind at least). Don’t go, they will be the 2025 Opening Day Starter For The Starting Pitcher Washington Nationals MLB MacKenzie Gore -shirt Additionally,I will love this idiots who will have regret. I was the girl who was turned off by people being hung over the next day at school. I don’t understand poisoning yourself for fun. Alcohol poisons liver as it breaks it down for your body to process it. I am still turned off on Xbox and ps5 parties when people mention pot or alcohol. Having bad friends is infinitely worse than having no friends. You’ll be fine. Just don’t start. You already know the answer Take it from someone who started with vodka at 16, now late 50’s and starting to quitting process, don’t start, your body will thank ya later on✌️ Don’t do it. I’m 25, my husband is 27 we have definitely partied, but now our home is alchol free, it’s a waste of money, tastes bad, and is literal posion
I have 20 and 16 year old sons and I tell them that doing things that are illegal (in reference to drugs) only limits their future potential and opportunities. Getting caught drinking under age could have an impact on your life. Put it off as long as possible. There is really nothing to gain by drinking. I spent way too much money on beer the 2025 Opening Day Starter For The Starting Pitcher Washington Nationals MLB MacKenzie Gore -shirt Additionally,I will love this 2 years I was stationed in Germany and I haven’t had a drink since 1998. I do not miss it. You are wise beyond your years. Wish I had even 20% of that insight at your age. (Instead it took me a few years of drinking & some attempted sobriety before finally getting sober to learn all that.) Keep doing what you’re doing & noticing what alcohol does to people around you while being sober enough to pay attention. There will be peer pressure, so whatever you do, try as best you can to make the decision to drink be a decision you make while you’re alone – i.e. don’t decide in the middle of a party you’re going to have your first drink when yesterday your plan was to not start drinking any time soon.
Financially, healthwise and with everybody having a mobile recording device in their hands at all times good for avoiding scandal and causing problems for your future life. I have a friend who had to go to rehab when she was 15. I have alcoholics in my family as well. I only drink at fancy restaurants & I limit it to 1 drink. No shots ever. I didn’t drink as a teenager because I didn’t really understand the 2025 Opening Day Starter For The Starting Pitcher Washington Nationals MLB MacKenzie Gore -shirt Additionally,I will love this appeal. I think it’s because you’re not allowed to have it so you want it? I don’t know but if you can have fun without alcohol, you’re set. We’re starting to see the science indicate that there is no safe level of alcohol to consume. The Canadian government’s safer-drinking guidelines state that if you stick to a maximum of 2 drinks per week, you are ‘likely to avoid health-related consequences of drinking.’ Imo, there’s no need to commit either way. If you feel comfortable and want to have a drink, then have one. Otherwise just don’t drink.
Alcohol is a level 1 carcinogen and no amount of it is good for you. Our society glorifies the 2025 Opening Day Starter For The Starting Pitcher Washington Nationals MLB MacKenzie Gore -shirt Additionally,I will love this use of alcohol but it’s not necessary to have a happy life or a good time. If you choose to never touch the stuff, that’s a very smart decision for a person your age. Its really dumb to do alcohol and nicotine. At least stuff like pot has some decent uses. Even opiates after surgery. Alcohol use for cleaning and sanitation is good. Well if you have an addictive personality, and don’t feel like doing it, then don’t, it’s fine. I think some people here are painting it like alcohol is the worse thing that can happen to your life, and it potentially can be, but if you control it, it can be a good time. You lose your anxieties, get silly, do goofy stuff, dance or sing without caring what people think, etc. The problem comes when you go too hard into it, and it’s easy to fall there if you have personal issues and an addictive personality. They’re not a good combo. Like your friends, you might find it as a way to escape, and that’s when it can get nasty It is a very good idea. No one really drinks in Highschool, other than at social gatherings. So, you’re in the clear.
Given your attitude towards alcohol, it’s highly unlikely you’ll become an alcoholic by having a drink or two at the 2025 Opening Day Starter For The Starting Pitcher Washington Nationals MLB MacKenzie Gore -shirt Additionally,I will love this occasional party. You might not even enjoy it and end up dumping it. If you’re feeling like trying alcohol, be wise about it and limit yourself, it’s that simple. Or simply stick to a non alcoholic beverage, either which way, it’s innocuous if you’re cognizant of the risks and you’re cautious and set limits. i wouldnt start. it makes you fat, bloated, makes your skin look like trash, and you feel like trash when you over-do-it. as someone who is approaching 40, you have plenty of time to do older people things, but you never get your youth back. ive also cut drinking almost out of my life completely- i will have one cocktail only and that’s it for a month. please enjoy being 18 and all that entails. life comes at you quick. enjoy each day 🙂
