My husband worked night shift the 2023 Military Bowl Champions Virginia Tech Football 41 20 Tulane Football shirt in other words I will buy this other day and on the days the time changes they work as if it didn’t so no one has to work an extra hour or loses an hour. Say at 1am time is rolling back so it goes right back to being 1am; if they get off at 4am then that day they would get off at 3am because technically they did work until 4 but the time changed eta: my husbands employer is super old school and still uses time punch cards to clock in lol My bf was working nightshift at a gold mill this past clock change, and his 12 hour shift simply became a 13 hour shift. Where I work bars close at 2am. So as a cop I get to watch some bars not close at 2 and I cry a little. But I do get an extra hour of pay but I rather sleep. The trick is working when it jumps up, you still get 12 hours for 11 hours of work, it’s great. Me and my mentor (I’m a new maintenance tech) sat and watched the clock go from 1:59 to 1 and shot off party poppers because our manager constantly fights us on working extra hours

Slightly different situation but my experience on a ship is that you’d split it with day shift. They end 30 min late, you start 30 min late but end 1 hour late. So everyone works an extra 30 min. In my experience, you are expected to work and are paid for, the 2023 Military Bowl Champions Virginia Tech Football 41 20 Tulane Football shirt in other words I will buy this extra hour. Optional grumpiness at the longer night lol. I used to work as a 911 dispatcher. When we lost an hour, they tried to make us use an hour of comp or vaca to make up for it, but the union pitched a fit and from then on it was just a freebie. If we gained anhour, and worked 13 hours, they would just pay us that extra hour in overtime. It really sucked and I would never work shift work EVER again. You work an extra hour and don’t get paid for it. When clocks go forward 1 hour you work, you’ve guessed it, 1 hour less.
