“To many, you are a contradiction. On one hand, you’re a sweet, innocent, virginal type, and on the 2021 Ugly Sweater Inspired Designs Merry Christmas Party T-shirt But I will love this other hand, you’re a sexy vamp in underwear,” one journalist said to Spears in an on-camera interview. (Granted, he’s got journalistic seniority on me, but I’m not sure what his question was.) Spears’s response is a bit begrudging, but barely so; what’s really tragic is how well-acquainted she seems to be with having her sexuality up for debate. Was it really possible to be a teenage girl at that time, with Spears’s music videos and interviews on in the background while you did homework, and not have it impact the way you saw yourself?

2021 Ugly Sweater Inspired Designs Merry Christmas Party T-shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

I didn’t have much in common with Spears as a tween—I was anonymous where she was famous, bookish where she was bubbly, brunette where she was honey blonde, chubby when she was lean—but both of us, along with pretty much every other girl in our loosely defined age group, were simultaneously expected to perform womanhood and girlhood, and God forbid we did too much of the 2021 Ugly Sweater Inspired Designs Merry Christmas Party T-shirt But I will love this former at the expense of the latter.

1. Length is measured from the highest point on the collar down to the bottom hem. 2. Width is measured across the body of the shirt under the armpits, one way. 3. Sleeves are measured from center back to hem.
