I’m not OP, but I’ve found that tapping the charge port will only open 2019 NFC South Division Champions New Orleans Saints Logo Signature shirt if the car is awake. Otherwise, you need to open a door or use the app to wake it first. This trick might help avoid that. Another use case: My partner and I both have Model 3s and share a charging cable. Right now, we have to open the app to switch cars to unlock and open the charge port to take the cable. With this trick, we could have a shortcut that switches to the other car, opens the charge port, then switches back.

I mentioned that opening a door wakes it, but then you have to close it and then open the charge port, so that’s three steps instead of one. If you really mean just tapping the handle, I just tried that and it didn’t do anything. I tried partially opening it too. 2019 NFC South Division Champions New Orleans Saints Logo Signature shirt didn’t wake until I fully opened it. If your car isn’t on sentry mode you can just tap the back door handle to wake it then your Bluetooth connects and it’s unlocked. There are two switches on the handle. One to figure out it’s been wiggled, and one to actually open the door. A minor press on the handle wakes up the car but doesn’t actually open the door.

I often forget to bring my phone when I go plug in my car at night, so I just wiggle one of the door handles. It doesn’t unlock, but 2019 NFC South Division Champions New Orleans Saints Logo Signature shirt wakes up the car and allows me to open the charging port. The HPWC button doesn’t really work either. At least, it doesn’t wake the car up. If it’s awake, though, it’ll usually open the charge port. Interesting. I tried it and expected the screen to light up or some reaction like when the door is opened. I’ll have to try again when it’s back asleep. It won’t light up the display until the door is opened. Do a minor press on the thick part of the handle, give it a beat, then tap the charge door or 1772 latch, depending on if you’re plugging in or out.
