Good for you. Enjoy the 1977 Billy Joel Santa Monica Civic October Concert flyer T-Shirt but in fact I love this flattery while it lasts, since looks don’t last forever (or so, they say). Being ugly is exhausting You probably should be outraged. This is the kind of hiring practice progress has been trying to get legislated against for years. On the one hand it devalues the rest of us because it places an arbitrary and immeasurable standard against our prospects of employment, and defaults on the investment we made to be qualified for the job. On the other hand, it devalues you, because it demonstrates that you’re good fortune is only based on some thing which is unstable and intangible, and as well as saying nothing of any particular ability, leaves you open for liability in the event you are tested for your competency. If you are placed in such a compromising position, it could easily multiply against you because people could say you should’ve been more than qualified with your experience on the job already.

Woohoo!! You won some enigmatic round of genetic roulette!! (Do your job, accept the 1977 Billy Joel Santa Monica Civic October Concert flyer T-Shirt but in fact I love this paychecks and then move on..) Attractiveness and lack thereof isn’t a protected class. Employers are free to hire people who meet their personal preferences. There’s also the mostly unsuccessful lawsuits under the ADA that get filed when attractive people become overweight and then get fired. There’s a handful of states that have laws against height and weight requirements, but there are no laws against hiring to an employer’s random personal beauty standards. (Unless those standards include sex, race, or age, those are protected classes.) That’s how I got jobs. I stopped working out, caring for my skin & became ugly and no one wants to hire me ! Very true story, I seen it happen so many times; enjoy it while it lasts
