I was walking through the 13 Years 2021 – 2024 Little Mix Thank You For The Memories Shirt but in fact I love this house to go out the back door; wasn’t hungry, didn’t ask for anything, but Oma was like “here have some gespacho” I refuse to drink that disgusting crap for the rest of my life to protest her efforts. I’d rather die than ever have it pass my lips. I was a hyperactive kid, so it was literal torture all because someone was mad I didn’t want their soup that I didn’t ask for. My daughter hates 90% of the stuff I cook. I’m not making like… crazy gross food. Chicken breasts. Carrots. BLT’s. Just generally well rounded foods. She says she won’t eat before sitting down “it’s disgusting and I’m not eating it.” But I can’t let her have Mac and cheese every night. She doesn’t want to eat that’s fine but we expect at least 5-10 minutes of family time without phones or distractions where we can talk and be together. As long as the meal is “reasonable” like not Brussels sprouts and fish we put it to the side so when she says she’s hungry later it’s still there. I don’t think that’s unreasonable. We’ll heat it up if she wants. If she’s hungry she will eat it. If she’s just bored that’s different. We need to teach good eating habits.

My parents did this to me – but that was the 13 Years 2021 – 2024 Little Mix Thank You For The Memories Shirt but in fact I love this 80’s… I did NOT do that to my kids. For each of my kids – the consequence of not finishing your dinner is just that you might be hungry later and have to wait a bit. Even then if my son is really hungry and I think he’s learned his lesson I’ll let him have a snack. Sometimes if they have a considerable amount left over, I’ll just ask them to bag it up and eat it later when they’re hungry again so that the food isn’t wasted (obviously not possible with all types of food). When they’re old enough to think about it – I also let my kids tell me “how much” they want of whatever I’m making so they learn to gauge their hunger realistically. I agree with others in the comments that this is abuse. My family would make us sit if we refused to eat vegetables but we were never yelled at or hit. If we didn’t eat them then we’d go to bed instead of dessert or whatever. But we were always given kid sized portions, not huge helpings.
