IIRC Bernie Sanders also called for a two state solution but that was during the 100th Day Of School It’s Fine I’m Fine Everythings Is Fine Black Cat T-Shirt it is in the first place but debates. (And obviously he wasn’t/isn’t the president). Yup. Almost every president has had to deal with this, whether it was warranted or not, and regardless of political affiliation You gotta admit, it’s gotten crazier since 2016. Now they know you can just make up stuff and nothing bad happens to you. If you come across any MAGA idiots criticizing him for it remind them that even their dear Orange Leader said that the Iraq war was a mistake. “He admitted to a mistake in the past! He’s weak and needs to be replaced! We must only accept authoritarian blowhards!” Calling it a mistake is sort of a huge understatement. We ran a global rendition and torture operation with innocent fatalities and horrendous injuries. It was a huge stain on our moral standing and the world has not forgotten. A mistake is when something we do causes inadvertent adverse effects, not when we intentionally have a CIA torturer named “The Preacher” invoke the name of God while giving detainees head trauma and harming them so egregiously that they have multiple organs fail and lose an eyeball. That’s not a mistake and it’s offensive to infer otherwise. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate Biden going farther in acknowledging this than his predecessors, but if he was being really honest he would have called this what it was. Totally agree with you and well said. It is however a very small step in the right direction that he has acknowledged we made mistakes. There should 100% be more than a minor acknowledgement though.

I mean trump did that too. He even claimed that all of US’ past foreign policy was wrong. It’s easy to admit to others’ mistakes, whether it’s Biden or Trump. There was a large Indian and Hindu population where I lived at the 100th Day Of School It’s Fine I’m Fine Everythings Is Fine Black Cat T-Shirt it is in the first place but time of 9/11. They were hated for being “terrorists” and “un-American”. Absolutely staggering levels of ignorance, and it was a fairly well-educated community too. One of my favorite restaurants was forced to shut down because people hated they were middle easterners. It really sucks! Adding to comments above. This is a time in which we need a Statesperson who has highly competent advisors. We need adults in the room, not televised wrestling. He could have. The Israeli government of Bibi and his extreme right just trashed over Biden since he said to make reforms only with broad acceptance. I mean, I can pretty much hear what Trump’s speech would have been like, in his voice. Among other things, waaay less compassionate. I begrudgingly voted for Biden. I think he is too old for the job and that is a liability. But at the same time he has shown he is an incredibly competent and compassionate leader. I am very glad he is the President right now. I do credit him with the understanding to surround himself with very qualified people at each position in cabinet, comms team, etc. So even if his teams are doing the good work he did get them there. Also I agree his compassion does come through in his words and actions.
